Customs warehousing

TECONDI TECONDI is available 24 hours a day and 7 days per week. It provides 100.000sqm of yards with 5.000sqm of sheltered warehouses, the most advanced security systems with closed-circuit TV, fire hydrants and a fire brigade prepared to face any sort of emergencies.

TECONDI has also 1.150sqm of private rail lines directly connected to the rail network of the port and provides access to another important way of transportation.

The terminal control system is exclusive and completely computer managed. It was developed based on the daily activity of the Port of Santos and it is tailored to meet the needs both of the staff and users of the terminal. It's connected with the custom house and the port authority.

The interchange of data is made through EDI and the Internet.

In its REDEX (Export Bonded Facility) located at the main entrance of the port beside the Alemoa fly-over and with immediate access to Anchieta-Imigrantes road complex, the terminal offers 15.000sqm of facilities with 2.000sqm of warehouses dedicated to the storage and to the stuffing of containers.

In addition to the bonded storage services the terminal counts on the following competitive differentials:

D.T.A. Hub-Port: delivery and pick-up of goods under customs bonded regime with weekly departures to and from several Brazilian locations;

• Registration of Import documentation on-line (via internet);
• Pre-scheduling via internet for the reception, loading and unloading of vehicles allowing the truck companies to optimize their transportation fleet;
• Tracking system with follow-up of all operations steps;
• K.P.I. reports via EDI;
• Dedicated area for cargoes under Health Ministry Surveillance;
• Dedicated area for chemical products;
• Dedicated area for project cargo;
• Specialized team trained to develop a tailor-made service in accordance with the needs of each customer.

Expansion project

The civil works for the expansion of the terminal will provide an additional berth with 320m and 35.000sqm of immediate access area. Berth structure is designed to reach depths of 14,5m in the beginning and 17m drafts in a later stage.

A new set of port handling equipment is being purchased: 03 Gantry Cranes for the operation of new generation of vessels and 06 RTG’s for the handling of containers in the yards allowing a better occupancy rate of the area and better operational flow.

These new features will enable the terminal to increase its operational capacity to 700.000 TEUS per year and operate super post-panama vessels which are expected to call the port in the near future.

Stevedoring Operations

Always willing to offer a high quality service, TECONDI has the best equipment and trained personnel combination which allows a smooth stevedoring operation with a proper follow up of all steps of the process. In addition TECONDI provides:

• Two private berths and three contiguous public berths, including modern gates for entry and exit with electronic scale, warehouse, "plugs" for refrigerated containers and customhouse offices.
• Modern stevedoring cranes: Two Fantuzzi-Reggiane mobile harbor cranes with capacity to 100 tons and post-panamax reach of up to 15th containers rows; two Liebherr LHM 500HD mobile harbor cranes with capacity to 104 tons and post-panamax reach of up to 17th containers rows. All equipments are provided with BROMMA automatic spreader for 20´ and 40´containers.
• Fifteen reach stacker CVS-Ferrari, capable of handling heavy containers up to 45 tons or design loads weighting up to 60 tons, two of them specially design for containers handling on the second track in railroad operations.
• Two CVS Ferrari forklifts capable of handling cargos up to 32 tons and e equipped with elevation towers to operate in restrict heights.
• Two tug masters CVS Ferrari for multi trailer operations and operations on RO/RO vessels.
• Eleven small forklifts for cargo handling in the warehouses.
Vessels operations are carefully planned and organized to provide high productivity rates and a shorter stay of the vessels in the Port.
